“How dare I be discouraged in the work by anything so trivial as the fear of personal failure?” – Paul Williams
I am a white cisgender woman.
I will mess it up. I will do it wrong. I will have good intentions and they will sometimes translate into shitty actions. I will be thoughtless sometimes, selfish sometimes.
But I vow to listen, acknowledge my privilege, apologize when necessary, make changes, and continue to do the Work. What the world needs now is my thick skin, my ability to listen and adapt, my ability to get back up and try again, my ability to serve something so much larger than my self.
“Ever tried. Ever failed. No matter. Try Again. Fail again. Fail better.” – Samuel Beckett
