To catch the ocean in a cup – the work is futile.
I carry the tides in my breath, in and out, in and out. The tide and the shoreline, the dance and interplay between water and earth are the lessons here.
Sometimes, retreat is necessary. Retreat, approach, retreat, approach – cycles in waves and sand, cycles in relationship. Sometimes we are in the process of merging, sometimes in the process of returning to self. Like our breath, our inner tide, our relationships with others are in constant flux.
What would it be like to understand relationships as a shoreline, with endless cycles and tides? Can you imagine relationships breathing in this way, in and out?
